I agree with many who saw more women on the lower level and more men on the upper level.  Also that people on the upper level appear better dressed.  Could this reflect status?  Are we seeing the difference between first class and steerage?  Paul thought the people may be immigrants.  It's hard for me to interpret their country of origin from their dress.  I think they could be American.
